CCTV, China Mobil and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and State Grid Corporation of China are listed in the top 100.

The top 3 brands are Microsoft, Coca-Cola and Google. Microsoft jumped from 7th in 2008 to the 1st in 2009 which was occupied by Harvard University in 2008. The US has 241 brands listed and ranks the 1st, 2 fewer than in 2008; France ranks the 2nd with 46 brands; and Japan ranks the 3rd with 40 brands.

The World’s 500 Most Influential Brands are measured according to the influence of the brands to the world based on three indexes: market share, brand loyalty and global leadership. Among these 500 brands, more than 200 brands have a history of more than 100 years. Oxford University has the longest history of 913 years. Although the average histories of these 500 brands reached 99.6 years, many newly developing brands are also listed.
